Hiking is popular in this Scandinavian country, as there are abundant hiking trails in parts of western Sweden, in the Scandinavian Mountains. There are many areas to hike in Sweden and plenty of long distance trails to take in the varied landscapes.  Kungsleden (The King’s Trail) is the country’s most popular (and one of the world’s most popular) trail, more than 400 km through Lapland.

June – September: In Lapland, it would be July – August
October – May: Cold, snow

Climate: Subpolar (long, cold winters and cool summers) in Lapland (province of Sweden); and continental (cold winters and warm summers) in Jamtland.  Less rainy and more continental compared with Norway (which means warmer summers and colder winters) due to lack of ocean effect.
