Best Hiking Trails in Mallorca (Majorca)

Mallorca (Majorca) is the largest of the Balearic islands and has been a popular beach destination for many European travellers, but there are mountains to explore in the beautiful Serra de Tramontana on this island. The Balearic islands belong to Spain and are considered a province of Spain, therefore Palma is the provincial capital.  There are two mountain ranges on Mallorca to explore, the Serra de Tramontana (the higher peaks in the northwest of the island) and the Serra de Llevant (in the east of the island). There are spectacular hikes in these areas including the very popular long distance trail, the GR221, The Dry Stone Route.  The best times to hike in Mallorca are in spring and autumn.  Read on for more information on where and when to hike in Mallorca (Majorca).
