Where To Hike When - Discover Best Hikes and Trails Around the World.

Best Hiking Trails in Greece

One thinks of beaches, sun scorched islands and ancient ruins when one thinks of Greece, but considering 80% of this country is mountainous, spread out over a mainland, peninsulas, and hundreds of islands, there is plenty of spectacular hiking to be had in this beautiful southern European country.  Explore Pindos National Park, the spectacular Vikos gorge and the Zagorophoria; the Thrace region featuring Rodopi Mountain Range National Park; the Macedonia region featuring Prespa National Park shared with Albania and North Macedonia; around Delphi, the monasteries of Meteora; hiking on the Pelion and Peloponnese Peninsula; Mount Olympus National Park and of course all the many hiking routes found across the many Greek islands.  The best months to hike in Greece varies as the country is spread over a far distance, but in general April to October are good months, with spring and fall being ideal.  Read on for more information on where and when to go hiking in Greece.
