Best Hiking Trails in Albania

Overview

Albania is a fairly small European country, but one that has about 75% of it covered in mountains. Hiking trails can be found throughout the stunning mountain landscapes.  The Albanian Alps (or Accursed Mountains) are the main area for hiking, which contain Theth National Park and Valbona Valley National Park, two beautiful and popular destinations.  Hiking from Valbona to Theth is probably the most well known hiking trail in Albania. There are other great hiking areas including Llogara National Park, Lura National Park, Prespa National Park, Tomorri Mountain National Park, and also around Tirana, the capital.  The best months to go hiking in Albania are from June – September.  Read on for more information on where and when to go hiking in Albania.
